BASILAN AND SULU NEGOSYO CENTERS LAUNCHED

In compliance to R.A. 10644 otherwise known as the Go Negosyo Act ; an Act Promoting Job Generation and Inclusive Growth thru the Development of MSME’s and to DTI

Department Administrative Order No. 14-5 Series of 2014, the Negosyo Centers of Basilan and Sulu were simultaneously launched.

 

The launching of the Negosyo Center in Basilan took place last September 22, 2017 at the Lamitan City Commercial Center Buiilding, P. Cuevas Street, Lamitan City, Basilan. One hundred fifty eight (158) participants from the MSME’s, LGU’s, Academe, Business Chamber, NGO’s, Private Sector, Media Practitioners, Guests and representatives from the various Line Agencies, including DTI personnel witnessed the launching.
The City Mayor of Lamitan City Hon. Rose U. Furigay gave the Welcome Remarks while Mr. Norman Cualteros, the Policy Legislation Officer of Senator Bam Aquino IV delivered an Inspirational Message. DTI-ARMM Regional Secretary Atty. Anwar A. Malang was represented by DTI-ARMM Basilan Acting Provincial Director Nonito Manuel. Mr. Danilo V. Alvaro, the City Administrator of Basilan acted as the Master of Ceremonies.


Conversely, the Sulu Negosyo Center was launched September 23, 2017 at the DTI Sulu Provincial Office, Jolo, Sulu headed by DTI ARMM Sulu Provincial Director Harrison A. Haron. Acting Governor Nurunisah A. Tan gave an Inspirational Message citing the significance of the services of the Negosyo Center to existing and would be entrepreneurs in the Sulu Archipelago.

 

One of the highlights of the launching of the said Center was the Signing of Commitment of Support by the MSMED Council composed of the Provincial Directors of the various Line Agencies as well as representatives from the women and youth sectors along with other stakeholders-- OWWA and the like. This was witnessed by close to about 170 attendees who explicitly manifested their support.
